The honest bit: is there actually a claim?
Accident management works because we recover the costs from the at-fault driver's insurer. When that driver was uninsured, or drove off and is never traced, there is often no insurer to recover anything from — which means, bluntly, there may be no claim to run. We would rather tell you that plainly than string you along.
There is a formal route for these cases — the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) — but it is a solicitor-led process and not something we handle ourselves. If your situation looks like it fits, we'll point you toward it honestly rather than pretend it is ours to manage.
And there are exceptions worth a phone call: if a driver who fled is later identified and turns out to be insured, a normal claim may be back on the table. Every case is a little different, so it is worth two minutes on the phone to find out where you actually stand.

The driver had no insurance — can 4 Accident Management run my claim?
Usually not, and we'll be straight with you about it: with no insurer behind the at-fault driver, there is typically nothing for us to recover costs from. There is a separate route — the Motor Insurers' Bureau, handled by solicitors — which we don't run ourselves, but we'll point you toward it. What we can always do is recover your car and give you honest advice on 02890 024 744.
The driver drove off — what should I do right now?
Report it to the PSNI and get a reference number, and note everything you can: the other car's make, colour and any part of the registration, the time and place, witnesses, and any nearby CCTV or doorbell cameras. Sometimes that is enough to trace the driver, which can change your options entirely. Then call us and we'll recover your vehicle and talk you through where you stand.
Will you still recover my car even if there is no claim?
