The Glenshane is a different kind of road

Climbing to over 300 metres between Castledawson and Dungiven, the Glenshane Pass is the main Belfast–Derry route and one of the most exposed roads in the country. Fog, black ice, snow gates and crosswinds turn routine journeys difficult — and when a collision happens up there, conditions that caused it also complicate the recovery.

If you've crashed: hazards on, and get everyone out and off the carriageway on the verge side — visibility for approaching traffic can be a few car lengths in fog. In winter, stay warm and stay put off the road; don't start walking the mountain.

All-weather recovery, both directions

Our recovery partners cover the A6 corridor from both the Derry side and the Mid-Ulster side, in conditions that stop ordinary traffic. Call 02890 024 744, describe where you are — the Ponderosa, the summit, the Dungiven descent — and we'll dispatch from whichever side reaches you faster.

As always: like-for-like replacement vehicle, managed repairs and a fully handled claim, free when the accident wasn't your fault.

Weather, liability and honest advice

"It was icy" doesn't decide a claim — drivers must adjust to conditions, and a driver who slides into you on ice is usually still liable. Equally, single-vehicle weather accidents are generally your own insurer's territory, and we'll tell you that straight rather than waste your time. Photos of the road surface and weather at the scene make liability conversations much shorter.

HOW IT WORKS

One phone call and it's handled. Here's what happens from the moment you ring us.

1

Call us — day or night

Speak to a real person in our Belfast office on 02890 024 744. We take the details and give you an honest view on liability, free.

2

Recovery & replacement

We recover your vehicle and deliver a like-for-like replacement car, usually the same day, wherever you are in NI or Ireland.

3

We manage the claim

Repairs booked, insurers dealt with, every cost pursued against the at-fault driver's insurance. You pay no excess and lose no bonus.

4

Back to normal

Your car comes back properly repaired — or properly valued if written off — and you hand back the replacement. Simple as that.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

We've helped customers get peace of mind all across Northern Ireland & Ireland. Contact us if you've just been in an accident or need help with a claim.

I couldn't recommend 4 Accident Management highly enough. My car was parked when it was hit and ultimately written off, and from the very start they took care of absolutely everything. I didn't have to worry about a single thing.

Deneka Vella

Cannot recommend this company enough! From the first phone call with Éadaoin, when she kindly took time out of her weekend to speak with me, they have been friendly, highly professional and personal. The entire process has been made so easy and completely stress free for us. Will recommend this company to everyone I know!!

Ruth Toner

My friend called this team to recover my car for me, and Tony and the rest of the team did everything they could to make it a far less stressful time — contacting me the next morning, arranging a courtesy car that arrived that day, keeping me updated throughout, arranging a solicitor and even delivering the cheque to me. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs assistance after an accident!

Nicole

I dealt with Éadaoin who made the whole process incredibly smooth and stress free. From the first phone call, she was friendly, professional, and explained everything clearly. She handled all the communication with the insurance companies and arranged a like-for-like replacement vehicle quickly, so I wasn't left without transport. Excellent service from start to finish!

Melissa Orr

I would highly recommend 4 Accident Management. From start to finish they managed my case with such professionalism and care. They constantly kept me updated with my case and had a temporary car — which was better than my own lol — out to me on the same day as my accident. 5 stars from me!!

Julie Brown

I contacted 4 Accident Management because someone had hit my car. The service was outstanding — they sorted out everything from a hire car, which was delivered to my house, and they dropped my car back. The work carried out was amazing. I would highly recommend this company.

Gillian Townsley

Great service from the get go! Massive thanks to the case management team for handling my case in such a helpful, professional and efficient way :)

MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We understand how overwhelming it can be. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.

A car slid on ice into mine on the Glenshane — is that just "nobody's fault"?

No. Ice explains a skid; it doesn't excuse it. Drivers are required to adjust speed and distance to conditions, so the sliding driver is usually liable. Call us and we'll assess it properly.

The snow gates were about to close — will recovery still come?

Our partners work the Glenshane in the worst of it, but nobody beats a closed road. If conditions are marginal, call us immediately — the sooner we dispatch, the better the odds we lift you before closure. Your safety comes first, always.

I broke down (not crashed) on the pass — can you still help?

Our specialty is accident management, but call us anyway on 02890 024 744 — we'll either help directly or make sure you're pointed to someone who can, rather than leave you stranded on a mountain.
